"False and Malicious Statements": Olympic Boxing Champion Imane Khelif Denies Hanging Up Her Gloves

"I would like to clarify to the public that the reports of my retirement from boxing are false," wrote the Olympic boxing champion on her Facebook page, referring to the statements made by her former manager in our columns .

She lashed out at her former manager, Nasser Yefsah, accusing him of "betraying (her) trust and (her) country with his false and malicious statements."

"This person no longer represents me in any way," she stressed.

"Disrupt and harm my career"

"I have never announced my retirement from boxing, I remain committed to my sporting career , I train regularly and I maintain my physical condition between Algeria and Qatar in view of the next meetings," explains Imane Khelif.

The boxer believes that "the spread of such rumors is only intended to disrupt and harm (her) sporting and professional career ."

In statements reported by the French newspaper Nice Matin , Imane Khelif's former manager claimed that she had hung up her gloves without specifying whether it was definitively. He clarified his comments in another article : " My comments concerned only her cessation of activity in Nice, and not a general decision on the continuation of her career ," he clarified.
